Ingredients
8 slices brioche bread
1/2 cup Nutella (or your favorite filling like cookie butter or cream cheese)
2 large eggs
1/3 cup whole milk or heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp butter (for the pan)
Optional Coating: 1/4 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 tsp cinnamon
Directions
- Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread until it is thin and pliable.
- Spread a spoonful of Nutella in a thin layer across the entire bread slice. Roll the bread into a log.
- In a bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon until well combined.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Quickly dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, coating all sides. Do not submerge for too long or it will come out soggy.
- Place the rolls in the hot pan, seam-side down first to seal them. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, rotating on all sides with tongs until they are golden brown.
- Remove rolls from the pan. For extra sweetness, immediately roll the hot rolls in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
